The Whitman All Sports Booster Club will once again sponsor Mock SAT and ACT tests this fall semester. Tests will be taken in-person at Whitman.

These mock tests will be administered by Capital Educators in a similar manner to the actual tests. Mock tests are a great way for students and/or parents to gain familiarity with the test formats, build confidence, and decide which test, the ACT or the SAT, is a better fit.

Mock SAT – Saturday, December 10, 2022 @ 9:30 AM

The cost is $25 for one of the fall tests

Since the arrival of COVID-19, the overwhelming majority of American colleges have gone test optional, which means they aren’t requiring SAT or ACT scores for admission. But test optional does not mean test blind. While students aren’t disadvantaged by applying without scores, having strong scores may provide an advantage, particularly at a time when there are fewer official scores in circulation. The best way for High School Juniors and Sophomores to prepare for official tests is to take full-length simulated exams, like the ones we’re offering.

Testing will begin at 9:30 AM for everyone. Standard time testing will end by 1 PM, and extended time testing will end about 2:15 PM for those who qualify.  After the exam, students will receive detailed score reports and answer keys by mail and be invited to attend Zoom follow-up sessions held just a few days after the test date on November 17th and December 14th. During these meetings, time will be dedicated to discussing test optional college admissions policies as well as the differences between the SAT and ACT. Capital Educators will also help families interpret their score reports and plan for upcoming standardized testing.

If a student is interested in taking a mock test but has a conflict, please contact Capital Educators President Phil Pine at for more information about alternate dates.

Because mock tests are a fundraiser for the Whitman All Sports Booster Club, there will be no refunds for tests not taken.
