Greetings Whitman Parents,

Did you know that Walt Whitman has an All Sports Boosters Club?  Every year, the Boosters provide much needed support for Whitman athletes competing in junior varsity and varsity sports.  Among the many things Boosters has done recently include working to help fund and support installation of a turf field in Marco stadium, improvements to the stadium plaza, improvements to the concession stands, field maintenance, security at games and even uniforms and weight room equipment.  We are taking advantage of the quiet time in our gyms and fields to complete a number of projects this year such as refinishing the gym floor, dugouts for softball and updating the baseball field layout.

Boosters does all these things through its fundraising efforts, and we will be resuming our membership drive and concession sales. Please stay tuned for news about practice ACT/SAT and we will still run our mulch sale in the spring.  Look out for other fundraisers as they arise and please contribute as you can.

The most important way you can support Boosters is by getting involved.  We are always looking for new volunteers and our current Board has a number of long serving volunteers some of whom no longer have athletes at Whitman and many of whom are in their last year of participation.  It would be a shame if sports come back and Boosters is not fully staffed to support them.  Please reach out to Sam LeBlanc at about getting involved.  Thanks so much.

Mock SAT and ACT Registration

The Whitman All Sports Booster Club will once again sponsor Mock SAT and ACT tests this fall and spring semester. Tests will be taken in-person at Whitman. Check back soon for information about the spring 2023 test dates. These mock tests will be administered by Capital Educators in a similar manner to the actual tests. Mock tests are a great way for students and/or parents to gain familiarity with the test formats, build confidence, and decide which test, the ACT or the SAT, is a better fit.
